PURMAL, Earl Ray

The world is a sadder place as we share the news of Earl Purmal’s passing after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s on October 2, 2017 in his 87th year. He was a wonderful husband to Isabella (nee Donnelly) for over 60 years. Earl was an inspiration to his children Teresa, Kathryn (Ken), Carol (John) and his grandson Mackenzie. His parents, Herb and Violet, sister Gail, and son-in-law Ed Shanley, have already made the journey to Heaven. Earl will be sadly missed by his entire family and many friends especially the members of The South Gate Church where he attended and volunteered for over 50 years. A lifetime employee of Firestone, Earl loved his work and made friends wherever he went. Sincere thanks to the amazing staff at Queens Garden (special thanks to the folks on Dundurn floor) and at The Residences on Augusta. Visitation to take place at M.A.CLARK & SONS FUNERAL HOME (567 Upper Wellington) on Friday, October 6 from 2-4 PM. and 6-8 PM. Celebration of Life service to be held at THE SOUTH GATE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (120 Clarendon Ave.) on Saturday, October 7 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The South Gate Church Memorial Fund, The Canadian Bible Society or the charity of your choice.

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
