Darlene Lily Carson

November 22, 1953 - May 15, 2026

Our hearts were breaking as we sat and watched my wife Darlene take her last breath.
With my hand on her heart to show her that she was not alone, I knew that she had left us
and had started on her journey to see her father and mother, Stanley and Doris Carson.
Sadly left behind husband Hugh Richardson, son Ryan Heidekamp, step-son Patrick Richardson,
sister-in-law Marion Richardson, brother and sister-in-law David and Brenda Carson of Dartmouth N. S.,
grand-daughter Myranda Darlene Richardson (Julian), great-grand-son Asher, and of course Parker
(Nosey Parker) her dog, who is a little lost right now. Close friends, Debbie Fogal, Bob and Hilda West, and many more.
Darlene was a friend of Bill W. and was a member of the Liberty Group. She had many friends in the
Liberty Group and also other groups of A. A.. She liked going to many meetings (thanks for the cake).
Born in Port Dalhousie (Port Girl). She was a Majorette, Highschool cheerleader, and liked to play
baseball. Darlene came to Hamilton, had a few jobs, but finally settled in at the Hamilton General Hospital.
She took classes at Mohawk Collage and night school and got her certificate as an E. E. G. Technician which
she really enjoyed. Later on she got her certificate as an E. M. G. Technician. Darlene worked hard for what she
got and had !! Many illnesses, surgeries, treatments and medications found their way to Darlene, but she never
gave up and fought back. Her courage and stamina in dealing with her many illnesses made me call her
" MY HERO ".
Family and Friends will miss Darlene L. Carson, BUT,, the good thing about it,,,,
" WE GOT TO KNOW AND LOVE HER, TO THE MOON AND BACK "..
HUG A POLAR BEAR
Family will receive friends at The M.A. Clark and Sons Funeral Home 567 Upper Wellington St Hamilton on June 20th from 10 to 12 with Service to follow at 12 noon . Interment will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens 2250 Hyway 20 in Fonthill .

In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to the S. P. C. A. or a charity of your choice.

Darlene started me on my path of wellness 8 years ago, and I will always be grateful for the support and encouragement she gave me. She was a true role model, and she never let her health issues get her down. I'm praying for her family and loved ones at this time. I believe that Darlene is safely in the arms of God and that we will see her again. Rest in peace, sweet Darlene.

My heart is broken at the loss of Darlene, we were colleagues at HHSC for many years. She was such a hard worker and so kind to the patients.
I saw her go through so many challenges . It was amazing how she came back after each one.
We went through many sad times together but also fun times as well. We hade each other’s back through it all. Myranda, she talked about you all the time, I remember her taking you to the Nutcracker every year.
Hugh, you were her rock.
We will all miss her .

To Hugh,
I am so, so incredibly sorry for your loss. I cannot express how much my heart breaks for you. Darlene was such an incredible woman with such a huge heart. Thank you both for letting me into your lives and treating me with such love. My childhood is filled with memories of you, and your home, which I was always welcome in. She will forever be a part of me, and for that I am grateful.

To Myranda,
The relationship you had with your grandma is one you will cherish forever. The memories you have with her are there because she made sure of it. She loved you, so much, and she made sure you knew it. Hold onto those memories, so you can share them with the world and let everyone know how amazing your Gramma Darlene was. I'll be right there with you, every step of the way. Forever and always. I love you so much 🖤
