ROSS - Shelagh (Sheila)
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Shelagh Margaret Ross (nee Eakin) on February 28, 2025 at the age of 96, with her beloved family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob). Loving Mother of Donald (Agnes), and Neil (Elaine). Cherished Nana to Sarah (Emilio), Megan (Michael), Dylan (Kat), and Shauna (Aaron), and great-granddaughter Kylie Shelagh.

Shelagh’s life was her family, and they were a source of immense pride and joy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by not only her immediate family, but her extended family. We are grateful to have had her in our lives for so long.

Shelagh was born in Dublin, Ireland on May 3, 1928, but grew up in Northern Ireland. Upon completing school, Shelagh trained to be a Nurse at the Middlesex Hospital in London, England. Shelagh worked as a Nurse in London, Scotland, and Denmark, before moving to Canada in 1954, where her career continued for many years.

Music was a very important part of Shelagh’s life. She loved to sing, and her voice was a gift to anyone who had the privilege of hearing it. Shelagh was a member of many choirs over the years, including the Saltire Singers, the Irish Canadian Choir, the Sackville Hill Singers, and the Geritol Follies. Shelagh also sang in the choir at MacNab Presbyterian Church, where she was a member for many years. Shelagh also enjoyed travelling the world with her husband Bob, gardening, and social gatherings at Sackville Hill Seniors Centre and Wentworth Heights.

Our family would like to thank The Village of Wentworth Heights for their compassionate and loving support. Many of the staff became family to Shelagh, and we are so grateful to know she was so well cared for, and cared about.

Family and friends will be received at M.A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington St. on Saturday March 8, 2025, with a visitation at 9:30am, and a memorial service immediately following at 10:30am in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bob Kemp Hospice would be appreciated.
