October 10, 1928 - December 22, 2024

Komaranski, Marie Louise (née Strelsky)
Passed away peacefully at United Mennonite Home in Vineland, Ontario, on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in her 97th year.
Marie was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Olga Strelsky (née Parchomczyk); her sisters, Nina Kuzmicz and Victoria Michaels; and her brother, Michael Strelsky Jr. She was the beloved wife of Daniel (Danny) for 67 years and the cherished mother of Philip Browning and Katherine (Bruce) Preston.
Marie was a dear aunt to Dr. Wallace (Peggy) Kuzmicz, the late George Kuzmicz, Dr. Norman (Ida) Komaranski, and Mary (Paul) Bylhouwer. She was also a loving great-aunt to Laurie Golba-Bylhouwer, Kevin, Jeff, Michelle, and Paul Komaranski. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Zachariah, Alexander (Ariana), William, Graham, and Sarah (Brack).
Marie was a lifelong friend and neighbour to Brian and Doreen Hill, Doug and the late Jackie French, and Cindy and the late Craig Shipway.
Born in Lithuania in 1928, Marie emigrated to Canada with her family in 1948 and proudly became a Canadian citizen in 1955. She began her working life at The Canadian Cotton Mill in Hamilton, Ontario, where she met her devoted husband, Danny. They married in 1957, and built a life together on Hamilton Mountain, where they resided in the same home for over 60 years.
Marie earned her bookkeeping qualifications and was admired for her strong work ethic and dedication to her family. She found great joy in spending time with her loved ones, especially during holidays and at the family-built cottage.
Marie’s hobbies reflected her love of homemaking and the outdoors. She was a talented cook, gardener, and seamstress who enjoyed sewing, embroidery, canning, and crocheting. She also took pleasure in tending to her flowers, being in the backyard, and watching hockey games on television.
Visitation will be held at M.A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by a service at noon officiated by Rev. Krzysztof Szczepanik. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the United Mennonite Home in Vineland, Ontario, would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
