May 23rd, 1942 – December 11th, 2024
On the morning of December 11th, 2024, as the sun rose softly, casting a warm golden light across the room, George Frederick Wicks, a man whose life was rich with love and compassion, peacefully passed away at 4 AM. He was surrounded by his daughter Angela and his beloved grandson Ryan. This moment took place at St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre in Brantford, Ontario, a place that had offered George comfort in his final days.
At the age of 82, George said his last goodbye to the world, leaving behind some of the people who loved him, his cherished sister Margaret, affectionate sister Barbara, stalwart brother Glen, dependable brother Keith, and caring sister Maureen, his son Fred and his daughter in-law Amanda, his grandson Mathew, his daughter Angela and his son in-law Ronald, adored granddaughters Jessica, Katie, Cheyenne, treasured grandsons Daniel, Zachary, Ryan, and precious great-grandchildren Nathan, Kaidyn, and Jasmine. Also girlfriend Betty Ann Carson of 8 yrs .
George's life began in England, and his journey to Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada was more than just a move; it symbolized new beginnings. Together with his loving mother Marjorie, young George embraced this new chapter with an indomitable spirit, guided by the values of integrity and kindness instilled in him by his parents.
As George's life gently ended, he was told of the beautiful place that he would soon be going to and the people that await him there. His beloved mother, Marjorie, whose warm smile filled his earliest memories, his father, George, whose strength shaped his character, his devoted wife Stella, a constant source of love and support, and his grandson Frankie, whose laughter had always brought joy.
