William Kemp

April 7, 1944 - September 3, 2024

It is with celebration of a life well lived that we would like to announce the passing of our husband, father, brother, uncle and good friend to many, William “Bill” Kemp who passed away at St. Joseph’s Villa after a long battle with Dementia on September 3rd, 2024 in his 81st year. Bill leaves behind his dedicated and loyal wife of 56 years, Kate, Sons Byron (Nicole) and Stuart (Leigh Ann) and daughter Charlotte (Dave). A loving Grandpa to Jaxson, Owen, Rachel, Mikayla, Nathan and Ella. A loving brother to Don, and Jim (Marie) of P.E.I. and Uncle to Rob and Joni. Bill had a very strong faith and was a dedicated member of Paramount Drive Alliance (formally Delta Tabernacle) and served for many years on the Board of Elders and as an usher. Bill loved his family and was extremely proud of his wife, children and grandchildren and a very close second to his love for family was his Hamilton Tiger Cats! Bill was a season ticket holder, and it was nice that he was around for one more Labour Day Classic where his Ti-Cats defeated the Argos! Bill spent many summers at the Kemp Family cottage fishing at Boshkung Lake where he will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren with their love of his Ti-Cats and fishing. Friends and family are welcome to attend visitation at M.A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home at 567 Upper Wellington Street Hamilton on Sunday September 8th from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm. The funeral service will be at Paramount Drive Alliance Church, 1035 Paramount Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday September 9th at 11am. Light refreshments will be available, and a burial will be at White Chapel at approximately 2:30pm. Expressions of sympathies can be directed to Bills’s favourite charities, either to Paramount Drive Alliance Church, Building Fund OR The Heart and Stroke Foundation. The Kemp family would like to most sincerely thank the team on Maple Grove and Trillium Way at St. Joseph’s Villa for the care and compassion they showed Bill over his six years of living there. A special note of gratitude to Marcie, Kathy, Daniel, Stacey and Louisa who truly went above and beyond this last week of Bill’s life. Thank you for ensuring his comfort and dignity.

Kate and Family,

Our condolences from Ottawa. Lots of positive, and shared, memories of life at the cottage. From early days I fondly remember Bill and all of the Kemps next door at Boshkung. It was a special era. Bill was the oldest of the ‘next’ generation from our parents; I was the youngest. We may not have hung-around as kids, but through the years we always shared a few minutes to discuss whatever - and always about the Ti-Cats! I miss those days, but the many good memories remain. Our condolences Kate. All the best. Dave, Carol, Doug & Scott.
