Cornelia Schinkel ( nee Bloemink )
February 15, 1929 – August 9, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce
the passing of our mother, Cornelia Schinkel, on August 9, 2024,
at the age of 95. Predeceased by her husbands, William Schinkel,
Gerard Vandermeer and Tjacko (Jack) DeBoer.
Loving mother of Fred DeBoer ( Sharon), Bob DeBoer ( Joy),
and Pat Salisbury ( Jon). Cherished grandmother of Ryan Salisbury ( Melissa) ,
Stefanie Mifsud ( Scott), Steven DeBoer ( Janelle), Heather Youmans ( Jake),
and Adam DeBoer, and great-grand mother to five great-grand children.
Cornelia was born in Rotterdam, Holland and immigrated to Canada,
Via Pier One in Halifax, in 1952.
Her last years were enjoyed at Shalom Manor in Grimsby where
She peacefully passed away. An enormous thank you to all the
Staff at Shalom Manor for the caring of our mother.
In keeping with her new wishes, cremation has taken place
and her ashes will be interned at Chapel Hill and a small
immediate family service will take place at the cemetery
at a date to be determined.
