Lorraine’s mother Beulah and my mother Gertrude were sisters, and her father George and my father Donald were brothers, so she and her brother Allan, and sisters Betty, Marie, and Joyce were our "double cousins" (first cousins to one another twice over).
When we were younger, my father would drive our family from Brantford to Hamilton every other Saturday to visit their family, and, each alternating week, they would come to see us, so we were quite close.
As the years passed, we would see each other at special occasions, and catch up on the highlights of our lives.
One of my earliest memories of Lorraine is of her practising the accordion in preparation for playing in church on Sunday.
She was very intelligent and serious, and she seemed to be very strong and determined from an early age.
Lorraine had a career in the railway industry (NSC), as did her brother Allan and I (CNR).
We were Facebook friends, and we messaged back and forth earlier this year about the possible causes of a rail accident in the USA.
To all who knew and loved Lorraine, may you find strength, peace, and healing in the days ahead, and may her soul rest in eternal peace.

Lorraine was a tough business woman and a lady with heart of gold, she could not talk enough about having sleep overs with her Grandchildren.
It was a pleasure knowing and learning from her over the years.
Rest in Peace my friend
