Brent Hume - June 15th, 1951 - April 10th, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of Brent Edward Hume, at the age of 71, on April 10th, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Helene Gagnon, son Kyle (Erin), daughters Kara and Stephanie (Fredyan), and grandchildren Olivia, Mackenzie, Mickayla, Cameron, and Georgia. Brent is survived by his siblings Etta Cryer, Alf (Jan), Liz Bee (Paul) and several nephews and niece. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Margaret Hume. Brent was born in Brampton, raised in Georgetown and Hamilton, and spent a decade in Ancaster. Brent was as strong-willed as they come, turned negotiation into an art form, and his love and dedication towards his family and his darling Helene Gagnon was his driving force. His family was everything to him. Perhaps only seasonally surpassed by his unwavering love for the many hours he spent on the links, a devoted disciple of the church of golf. He was social, enjoyed sports, and was talented in his career. Brent worked for Source for Sports, ran a family business (Hume's Family Sports) and had a second home at Glendale Golf and Country. He was passionate, driven, complex, skilled and loved so very much. When life didn’t make sense to us he was the voice of analytical reason we relied on. His absence will not make sense anytime soon, if it’s even possible that it ever can.
Please join us to celebrate his life at M.A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home, located at 567 Upper Wellington St, Hamilton, on Friday April 14th, from 6 - 8pm, and Saturday April 15th, from 10 - 12pm and 2 - 4pm. After 4pm, there will be a small service led by the family to honour him. Donations can be made to Pelham Cares at the following link. www.pelhamcares.org/ donate/
