It is with a heavy heart that the family of Edward Drain announces his passing on December 26, 2022 following a brief illness. Eddie was in his 85th year.
A very much-loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be missed every day by his beloved wife of 60 years, Muriel (nee Topping), his four daughters Paula (Shane), Una (Dan), Nuala (Steve) and Imelda (John). Eddie was a loving grandfather to his nine grandchildren, Bill (Meg), Danielle (Matt), Kathleen, David (Monet), Nicola (Kyle), Owen (Sarah), Tom (Kristy) and Rachael and Eddie. Eddie was also especially proud to have three great-granddaughters, Isla, Lavender and Nora (surprise, more girls!).
Eddie immigrated with his family from Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1971. They settled in Hamilton and Eddie worked at Dofasco until his retirement in 2001. Eddie was very proud of his heritage and culture and loved all things Irish, from food and libations to music and dancing. He quickly became a member of the Irish Canadian Club of Hamilton and spent many happy hours with his wife Muriel, and family and friends, at Club events and dances.
We would thank the team at Juravinski Hospital for their care and support of our father and family.

"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
