Amy passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Juravinski Hospital. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Florence and Muriel and brother Hillard. She is survived by her husband Doug, daughter, Nancy, and her two sons, Craig and Andrew; granddaughter Beth (William) and great granddaughter Jade. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Amy was happily married to Douglas Embleton for 60 plus years and we thank God for their union. Amy was a devout Christian all her life. She was a lifelong member of the United Church of Canada. She demonstrated both kindness and compassion for all people. She had a special affinity for animals of all kinds- especially Siamese cats. Quite simply, she is the best person we have ever known- except when she plays checkers! A life well lived; we wish for her peace and eternal happiness. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at both the Hamilton General Hospital and Juravinski Hospital for all their diligent work. A special thank you to Dr. Hunt, and Amy's niece, Christine Inman, for their dedicated care and support in her final days. Thanks also to all her friends and acquaintances for their expressions of condolence. Arrangements by the M.A. Clark & Sons Funeral Home. As per her wishes, cremation and interment have taken place.
