It is with great sadness we announce the passing of “Steve” William Lloyd Stephenson at St Peters Hospital on Tuesday October 19, 2021.
Steve will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 70 years Joyce. Loving father of Brad (predeceased) (Lois), Brenda (Richard) and Glenn (Sherry). Steve was a proud grandfather of Kyle (Laura), Tyler (Krysten), Heather and Colleen and a very proud great grandfather of Duncan, Malcolm, Easton and Dallas.
Steve was born in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1929 to Roy and Myrtle Stephenson. He was predeceased by his siblings James (Jim), Orine and Maxine.
Steve enjoyed a long fulfilling 40-year career with Firestone. Steve and Joyce relocated to Hamilton, ON from Saskatchewan in 1954 and raised their family and flourished in the community during their 70 year marriage.
Steve was an avid runner reaching the milestone of 100,000 miles on the streets of Hamilton. Steve was a devoted member of the Anglican Church (Holy Trinity and St. Paul’s) and received the Order of Niagara for his services. He never turned down a good game of cribbage with family or friends.
The family wish to extend their sincere thanks to St. Peters Hospital for the excellent care Steve received during his stay. In lieu of flowers if desired, memorial donations to St. Peters Hospital (donations@hamiltonhealth.ca) or St. Paul’s Anglican Church (Mt. Hope) would be appreciated by the family. (Cheques for donations to the church need to be made out to “ St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Glanford". Service for Steve will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Saturday October 30th, 2021, at 11:00 am.
I worked with Lloyd at Firestone back in the 1960's. He was a likable fellow and it was a pleasure having known him. May he rest in peace.

Joyce and family,
I fondly remember "Steve" as my good neighbour for close to 25 year. Also when I was out driving, I would see Steve running / fast walking all over the central mountain. My condolences on his passing.
