Vera May Massey

February 14, 1922 - October 10, 2021

Vera May Massey (née Simmons)
What a wonderful statement she made in her own hand knitted, red sweater! But now she is at peace: It is with sadness that the family of Vera May Massey announces her passing on October 10 at the Juravinski Hospital. Ninety- nine years and eight months when she passed, Vera dearly wanted to reach the magic 100 mark on her birthday next February 14th. Valentine’s Day!
Vera was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Alfred Snedden Massey. She is survived by her three children Doug (Joan), Ron (Denise) and Barbara (Brian); her seven grandchildren, Louise, Erin (Bryan), Scott (Teresa), Andrew (Amanda), Rebecca (Chad), Alison (Kevin), Lauren (Baher); and her thirteen great grandchildren, Noella, Naomi, Sophie, Lila, Ava, Quinn, Jack, Jakob, Maeve, Kylie, Jackson, Ryan, and Avery.
General visitation will be on Thursday, October 14 from 2-4 pm at the M.A. Clark And Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington Street, L9A 3P8. Due to Covid you must be double vaccinated to attend the visitation. As well you will be required to call the funeral home for a reservation at 905-383-3323. Or email them at clarkandsonsfuneralhome@outlook.com.
See also the funeral home’s website at maclarkfuneralhome.com.
Although Vera supported many charities, the Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation were top of her list. Donations to these two organizations in lieu of flowers would be much appreciated. Condolence cards will be available at the time of visitation.
A visitation for immediate family will take place at 10 am on Friday October 15 at the funeral home, and a private funeral service for the family will be held in Clark’s chapel at 11 am. Interment will be at the Woodland Cemetery in Aldershot immediately afterward.
In her final days, mom received exceptional care from her PSW, Sandra who not only attended to mom’s physical needs but also touched mom’s soul when she read to her from the Bible. In appreciation, mom gave her that Bible.
Good night sweet mother. We will forever remember you. You will always be missed, Nana. And may you walk with dad in paradise.

Due to Covid- 19 restrictions, everyone entering the building, must show proof of double vaccination, and you must register, by calling the funeral home at 905-383-3323.

My deepest condolences to Vera Masey's family...The Lord is your comfort and peace.

Vera is a lovely soul. She loves the Lord and also His words. I am inspired by her in the short time I was with her. I will always remember her everytime I hold the bible she gave me.

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, " I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die...."

Vera is our brother-in-law's mother. She was a dear and lovely woman and we so much enjoyed having her attend many family gatherings. She enjoyed having chats with my (Elizabeth's) mother who is also of her generation and Vera was like another grandmother to our daughter Kelly. She will be missed by us all.
