"Richard Betts passed away peacefully on April 15, 2021 in Oshawa General Hospital at the young age of 66. He was the beloved husband to late Carla MacFarlane. Loving father to Jennifer Franklin(Betts), Stephanie Betts and Adam Betts. He was also the loving step-father to Christina Weeks and James A Basso Jr. His siblings will warmly remember him. Richard will be remembered as a humble and loving guy who was there for all of his friends and family. While his life wasn't easy, his sense of humour and sense of timing on jokes never left him. He will be always missed, but we take solace in knowing that he is with Carla again forever."

I will always miss my baby brother. He was as all little brothers are when we were kids...a big pain in the butt, but I loved him anyway. And I loved him as an adult. He has always been kind, thoughtful, caring and a great father to his kids. He would do whatever he could to help his family. Deepest condolences to the family for the loss of a wonderful Husband, father and brother. One happy memory is when your Dad lived in the house in Strathroy, He shared his room with 10 hamsters all in separate cages. I knew right then he was a great guy.
