HILL, Violet Mary Elizabeth

March 24, 1926 – August 8, 2019

On August 8, 2019, Violet was welcomed into God’s Garden.

She was predeceased by her parents, Matti and Mary Hill, her brother-in-law, Albert Keenan and her nephew, Ray Kennedy.

Violet will be deeply missed by her sister, Ruth Keenan and her nieces and their families.

Violet worked as a medical secretary for Dr. D.W. Thompson for over 40 years. She dedicated her life to helping others. She became her mother’s caregiver at the age of 19 for five years. She looked after her father in his final years in her thirties. Violet was a devoted caregiver to her sister, Ruth, for 13 years after she had retired. There were also numerous friends throughout the years that she would help during times of illness or life’s struggles.

In lieu of flowers, her family is asking that people take the time to help and show care and compassion to those less fortunate in memory of Violet.

Sincere thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice as well as the caring staff at the Juravinski Hospital. Donations to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or Hamilton Health Sciences would be greatly appreciated by the family.

At Violet’s request, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life service will be arranged at a later date.

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices, God is pleased.

I have know Vi for 57 years, she was the most amazing person I have ever met. She was a thoughtful, caring person and always considered others first.
I used to take Vi for rides in my car which she loved so much, and to see her smile and relax was very pleasing to me to do something that made Vi happy. I will truly miss Vi. God Bless You And I love You.

Vi was a wonderful, caring and generous woman. She had an incredible memory and could recall events, dates and friends, family and patients with an encyclopedic skill. Most of all, Vi was a truly loving lady with a wonderful sense of humour. She will be sadly missed.

Vi Hill was a wonderful woman - caring, kind and dedicated to helping people, including the patients at my dad's office. The world was made a better place by Vi being in it, and I hope that we all will carry forward her generosity of spirit.
